Když Tim Bergling 20. dubna 2018 zemřel, hudba pro nové album byla z devadesáti procent hotová. Tim za sebou zanechal bohatou sbírku téměř dokončených skladeb, poznámky, emailové konverzace a textové zprávy týkající se vytvářené muziky. Skladatelé, se kterými Tim tehdy spolupracoval, se se svolením rodiny, která nechtěla Timovu hudbu nechávat zamčenou v šuplíku, rozhodli v nahrávání pokračovat. „Po tom všem, dotahovat skladby do konce... Cítím se paralyzovaný, i když o tom jenom hovořím. Ale hlavním úkolem dokončování skladeb bylo co nejpřesněji naplnit Timovu vizi,” přibližuje nahrávání Kristoffer Fogelmark.
Prostřednictvím programu Fruity Loops byli Kristoffer s Albinem Nedlerem schopni najít a zachovat Timovi přesné úhozy kláves. „Měl úplně jiný styl hraní,” objasňuje Nedler. „Jeho prsty se občas dotkly neobvyklého tónu, což jeho skladbám dodávalo unikátní zvuk. Timovi otisky se doslova nachází napříč celou deskou.”
Avicii získal ohromnou popularitu jak mezi kritiky, tak fanoušky v roce 2011, kdy vydal taneční hit Le7els, který se usadil na prvních příčkách britské i americké hitparády a vysloužil Aviciimu nominaci na Grammy. Následující song Wake Me Up suverénně dobyl hitparády v 81 zemích a Aviciimu, který se stal jedním z nejznámějších DJs vůbec, definitivně zaručil globální úspěch.

Introducing Kenny Burrell put the jazz world on notice in 1956 that an extraordinary new guitarist was on the scene who combined bebop and the blues with smoky aplomb. Per Mike Milosh of Rhye, „the sound of Spirit was born out of falling in love with playing the piano again. About a year and a half ago, my girlfriend surprised me with a borrowed piano. It wasn't in the best shape, but it made itself at home in my apartment and I started playing it every morning... just messing around at first, but it slowly became a morning ritual I couldn't shake.
My morning piano ritual met my new piano in my favorite studio. I made a rule for myself that I would start something brand new every day, work on that for 2 hours without judgement and just see what I came up with. Out of the many sketches, Spirit started to take shape: a collection of songs that I did alone in the studio with just a piano, intertwined with collaborations with some of my favorite piano-based musicians. These are songs about love in my life, but also about the love for piano brought back into my life.”

Recorded during the U.S. and Australian swings of the tour in support of 1993's Off The Ground, Paul Is Live is Paul's fifth live album. Originally released that same year, the album is famous for the multiple meanings and clues embedded in its title and cover art, all of which play on the „Paul Is Dead” conspiracy/hoax. In addition to a wealth of Wings and Beatles classics, covers of Roy Brown's „Good Rockin' Tonight” and Leiber and Stoller's „Kansas City” and more, Paul Is Live also offers a peek behind the curtain: Three songs improvised on the spot and exclusive to the album, all recorded during rehearsals in various locations over the course of the tour.
